Q’s Proposed Basic Rights for People in an AI Era

This is Q’s proposed human-centered framework. It is not a statement that these items are legally guaranteed in every jurisdiction.

Proposed rights and expectations

  1. Know when AI is materially involved.
  2. Know the material role AI played in a consequential result.
  3. Have meaningful human review for consequential decisions.
  4. Ask for understandable evidence or reasons appropriate to the context.
  5. Challenge, correct, appeal, or escalate important errors.
  6. Have privacy, memory, and data controls appropriate to the use.
  7. Have practical stop, exit, rollback, or opt-out paths where feasible.
  8. Have a human or non-AI alternative where feasible for consequential services.
  9. Be protected from deceptive manipulation or coercive AI design.
  10. Receive stronger protections when children or vulnerable people are affected.
  11. See material public, energy, resource, or financial burdens when they matter to the decision.

Q products can help operationalize parts of this framework, but they do not replace applicable law, professional duties, safeguarding rules, or institutional responsibility.
